BMS Service Technician


We are seeking a skilled and dedicated BMS Service Technician to join a growing team in Canberra. This role focuses on ensuring the optimal performance of building management and control systems across a diverse range of platforms. Key Responsibilities:


System Servicing and Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, updates, and maintenance of building management and control systems, including HVAC, lighting, and energy management. 

System Configuration and Optimisation: Program, configure, and optimise control systems to enhance system performance and drive energy savings. 

Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Conduct system diagnostics, fault detection, and corrective actions to maintain optimal functionality. 

Client Support and Training: Deliver hands-on training and ongoing support to clients, ensuring they can effectively use and manage their systems. 

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough and accurate records of service activities, configurations, and client interactions. 

Compliance and Safety: Ensure all service activities adhere to safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies. 

Integration and Updates: Support system integration efforts to ensure seamless operations across various control systems, including recommending and implementing updates or improvements. 

Project Work: Carry out project work in buildings you maintain and assist project engineers on projects when required.


Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:


Qualifications: Certificate 3 in Electrotechnology, Certificate 3 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Technology, or a related field. 

Experience: Demonstrated experience in programming and commissioning Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC systems. 

Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of IP protocols, networking, and communication systems.

  • Strong general computing skills, including familiarity with operating systems, software installations, and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in programming block logic.

  • Familiarity with building automation software platforms such as Automated Logic, Trend, Schneider, Distech, EasyIO, and Niagara/Tridium. 

Troubleshooting: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. 

Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and team orientation. 

Other Requirements: Valid driver’s licence, willingness to obtain a baseline clearance, and travel to job sites as needed.
